8/26/23 - CORNSTAR CRUISES TO VICTORY

Cornstar captured a leg of the $55,000 OHSS at Scioto Downs in impressive fashion. Driver Chris Lems patiently positioned Cornstar in 5th before moving first over approaching the half-mile mark which was reached in :57.1. Moving steadily down the backstretch under a snug hold, the 3-year old daughter of Coraggioso took command at the ¾-pole and won easily while under a hand drive taking a new lifetime record of 1:54.4.

Owned by Vickie Jennings, the talented filly is one of two Coraggioso offspring slated to race in the Sept. 9th $300,000 OHSS Finals at Scioto Downs.

8/24/23 - COURAGEOUS MODELLO WINS

Leaving from the outside 6-post, Courageous Modello went wire to wire to record his 3rd victory in his 6th-lifetime start last evening at the Defiance Fair, in Hicksville, Oh. Driven by Emanuel Miller over a track listed as "Good", the son of Coraggioso-Lindy's Top Model, by Muscles Yankee gelding continues to demonstrate respectable gait-speed over half-mile track ovals.

8/19/23- SPAAAANZANO CRUISES TO VICTORY - AGAIN!

SPAAAANZANO won his 5th straight stakes race in dominating fashion last evening at Scioto Downs.  Gliding to the lead, the talented son of CORAGGIOSO, displayed his professionalism by calmly watching Rose Run Zoom briefly go by before immediately retaking control of the lead and ultimately the race. 

The undefeated youngster appeared to be on cruise control while drawing off to a 4-plus length victory timed in 1:56.2 and raised his lifetime earnings to $178,250

8/13/23 - CORNSTAR strutted her stuff to win by 3-widening lengths, while stopping the timer in 1:55 at Northfield Park on

In winning her 4th victory out of 14-races this year, the 3-year old Ohio Sire Stakes-placed daughter of Coraggioso is out of Punks Embrace and continues to impress.

Driven to victory once again by Chris Lems, the sweet-gaited filly is trained by Scott Cox for owner Vickie Jennings.

8/9/23 KANG wins Summer Series Final

Robert Slowey's homebred KANG (Coraggioso-Ko In Chun, by Crazed) gamely won the $20,000 Summer Series Final at Northfield Park.  Driver Ryan Stahl moved the two-year-old gelding approaching the half-mile marker and battled to finally assume the lead past the three-quarter pole before drawing off to easily win by 4-1/2 lengths, recording his first lifetime victory in 2:00.1

8/9/23 - COURAGEOUS MODELLO left quickly off the gate to take command and led throughout to win at Attica Fair. 

The talented 2-year old son of Coraggioso is out of the mare Lindy's Top Model, by Muscles Yankee and has now won 2 out of his 4 lifetime races.

8/4/23 - SPAAAANZANO reeled off his 4th consecutive stakes victory in as many lifetime starts while taking a new lifetime mark of 1:55.4F.

Racing in the second of three divisions of the $56,500 Ohio State Trot at Scioto Downs' racetrack the 2-year old son of Coraggioso led at every pole through fractions of :28.1, :58.1 and 1:27.2 before drawing off to a widening 3-length victory. 

Out of the S.J. Caviar mare, Grace N Charlie, Spaaaanzano was driven to victory by Aaron Merriman and is owned by the partnership of Chris Beaver, Spaaaartners, Bill Manes and Leo Fleming.  

The talented freshman has now banked $150,250.

7/18/23 - Two-year old trotting sensation SPAAAANZANO continues to impress while winning his 3rd consecutive stakes race in the Ohio-bred stakes program last evening at Scioto Downs.

Driver Aaron Merriman guided the Coraggioso sired gelding from post 8 and controlled throughout drawing off down the lane for a 2 1/2-length victory in 1:57.

Coming off his win in the Preferred Equine Next Generation, 1-9 favorite Spaaaanzano with Merriman made it look easy, going gate-to-wire to win by three lengths in 1:58.4. The son of Coraggioso is trained by Beaver who co-owns with Spaaaartners, Bill Manes, and Leo Fleming. Spaaaanzano has won both of his starts this year and has earned $95,000.
